Meet Nectir’s New Account Executive – Graham!

We're excited to welcome Graham Edward to the team as an Account Executive connecting with colleges and universities exploring Nectir, understanding what each campus needs, and helping them bring Nectir AI to their students. He brings 17 years in education and 7 in EdTech, a global view from working with institutions across the world, and a genuine belief that the right technology should make learning more personal for each individual student.

Meet Graham!

1. Can you share a brief introduction to who you are, your background, and your role at Nectir?

I am an Account Executive at Nectir, and I work with universities & colleges to adopt Nectir AI on their campuses. I have been in the EdTech world for about 7 years, and education for 17, working with all types of colleges & universities — large, small, and everything in between. I've had the chance to visit many campuses over the years, across the US, Canada, Europe, Asia, and Australia. I appreciate that my role allows me to meet incredibly interesting people and that we can work together to solve major problems, which ultimately benefits the student and learner experience that I believe is critical.

2. What were you like as a student? Was there a key moment in your educational journey that shaped how you think about learning?

I was generally studious, but in high school and university I had a part-time job and my calendar was quite full most days. Looking back, I realize that I excelled at most courses and programs, however, that was partly by design as I chose my major and that was an interest for me. However, there were some mandatory courses (e.g. Calculus, Statistics, Economics) that I never warmed up to and therefore struggled much more than I ever had before in school. Fast forward to today, I realize as of 2025 that I am neurodivergent and wish that I had been able to adapt the learning techniques for these types of subjects and reduce my stress/anxiety and improve my overall experience in those courses and actually learn.

3. What pulled you toward edtech specifically, and what made Nectir the right place for you?

I landed in education somewhat by chance in 2009, having worked for a company that helped universities and colleges promote internationally. As someone who loves geography, this was a very interesting opportunity and realized more and more what the education field - outside of just teaching - actually involves. After spending a number of years working with MBA programs around their marketing & recruitment, I felt that the future would be much more heavily in the tech side of things as so many parts of the education journey can be improved by implementing good tech, and to implement it well.

Where Nectir is specifically interesting: the heavy emphasis on supporting the actual student in a tangible way is incredible for me. I have been in roles that have dealt with institutions and how their processes work - recruitment, marketing, admissions, student success, automations - but it did not impact the actual students as much. Nectir was always focused on the students and what I have seen has been mind blowing to me for how transformative it is. I need to say, however, not only that the platform is incredible but the team is so sharp, welcoming, and I feel that we are all on the same page to make a difference.

4. What's a problem in education you're genuinely excited to help solve?

In a word: learning. Knowing myself and the different learning styles, ways in which different people can think and process knowledge, adding the fact that in 2026 there exist so many different options (hybrid, online, on-campus/in-person, 2+2, dual degrees, etc.) for students are interacting with education, I think this is a valuable use case for AI to support the individual learner in a way that is so much more personal than any other way can possibly allow. The instructors are incredibly valuable and I personally believe should never be replaced, but to leverage AI to augment what they do and how they can tailor to each and every individual to have them truly learn what is needed.

5. What topic are you showing up to a PowerPoint party with?

Well, I have played the bagpipes (Great Highland Bagpipes) since I was about 10 and they are a very unique instrument; in fact, I did a major class project to research the history in grade 6. If not that, I do love geography, maps, and that sort of trivia, so that would be my other subject.
